Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
The Bailey Code AI Academy is run by Tony Bailey, a sole trader trading as Bailey Code, a trading name of The Bailey Support (ABN 78 660 447 947), based in Melbourne, Victoria.
Email: tony@thebaileysupport.com
2. Our commitment
As a small business, Bailey Code may be exempt from the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We have chosen to follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) anyway, because you should be able to trust us with your information.
3. What we collect
We only collect what we need. Depending on how you use the Academy, this may include:
When you sign up or reserve a place
- your name
- your email address
- your industry or role (for example, bookkeeper or electrician), if you choose to tell us
- the date, time and form you signed up through
- a record of whether you agreed to receive marketing emails
When you become a paying member (once these features launch)
- your login details
- your plan, billing history and renewal dates
- payment details, which are handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number.
When you use the website
- basic technical information, such as your device type, browser, and the pages you visit
- usage information, such as which lessons you open or complete
When you contact us or join a live session
- what you tell us in emails, messages or session chats
- if a live session is recorded, your name, voice or image if you choose to speak or turn on your camera. We will tell you before any recording starts.
What we do not want
Please do not send us health information, tax file numbers, bank details, or personal information about your clients. We do not need it.
4. Our free tools
Our free tools run in your web browser. What you type into them stays on your device and is not sent to us. We cannot see it and we do not store it.
5. How we collect it
We collect information:
- directly from you, through forms, sign-ups, emails and your account
- automatically, through cookies and analytics when you use our website (see section 12)
- from our payment provider, to confirm whether a payment went through
We do not buy personal information from other sources.
You can browse our website and use our free tools without telling us who you are. You will need to give us your name and email to join the list or become a member.
6. Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- give you access to the Academy and your account
- process payments and send receipts and renewal reminders
- send you the emails you asked for
- respond to your questions and complaints
- understand how the Academy is used, so we can improve it
- keep the website secure and prevent misuse
- meet our legal obligations
We will only use your information for another purpose if you agree, or if the law allows it.
7. Marketing emails
Your consent
We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. The consent box on our forms is never ticked for you. You have to tick it yourself.
Keeping a record
When you agree, we keep a record of what you agreed to, when, and through which form. This helps us show we have your permission.
Our emails follow the Spam Act
Every marketing email we send will:
- clearly identify Bailey Code as the sender
- include our contact details
- include a simple way to unsubscribe
If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you marketing emails within 5 business days. We may still send you emails about your account, such as receipts and renewal reminders, because these are part of the service you have paid for.
8. Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run the Academy. They only receive the information they need to do their job for us.
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts our website and stores sign-up details (Cloudflare D1) |
| Supabase | Will manage member logins and accounts |
| Stripe | Will process payments |
| Kit | Will send our newsletter and marketing emails |
| Resend | Will send account and service emails |
| PostHog | Will help us understand how the website is used |
Some of these providers are not yet in use. We have listed them so you know in advance. We will update this list if we change providers.
We may also share information:
- with professional advisers, such as an accountant or lawyer, who must keep it confidential
- where the law requires or allows it
We never sell your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Ever.
9. Overseas storage
Some of our providers store or process information outside Australia. This may include the United States, the European Union and other countries where they run their services.
Before we use a provider, we take reasonable steps to check that it protects personal information in a way that is consistent with the APPs.
10. How we keep it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or changes. This includes:
- using providers with strong security practices
- encrypting connections to our website
- limiting who can access personal information
- using strong passwords and two-step login on our own accounts
- deleting or de-identifying information when we no longer need it
No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
How long we keep it
- Email list details: until you unsubscribe, then a minimal record so we do not email you again
- Member account details: while you are a member, and for up to two years after
- Billing records: as long as tax and business record-keeping laws require
11. If there is a data breach
If we become aware that your information may have been accessed or disclosed without permission, we will:
- act quickly to contain it
- assess the risk of harm to you
- tell you as soon as practicable if there is a real risk of serious harm, and explain what you can do to protect yourself
- notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required, or where we consider it the right thing to do
- review what happened and fix the cause
12. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We use them to:
- keep you logged in
- remember your settings
- understand how people use the website, through analytics tools, once we add them (this site uses none today)
Where we can, we set analytics to collect less, for example by not recording what you type into forms.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website, such as logging in, may not work without them.
13. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Email tony@thebaileysupport.com.
- We may need to confirm who you are first.
- We will respond within 30 days.
- We will not charge you for asking.
If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will explain why in writing and tell you how to complain.
You can also update many of your details yourself in your account settings, and ask us to delete your account.
14. Complaints
If you are worried about how we have handled your information, please email us first at tony@thebaileysupport.com. Tell us what happened and what you would like us to do.
We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
- Website: www.oaic.gov.au
- Phone: 1300 363 992
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make an important change, we will email you before it takes effect and show the new date at the top of this page.
